Gemmological Institute of India (GII), India’s premier Gem testing laboratory is the Jewellery Lab testing partner for H&M Designs. GII was established in 1971 and offers an array of laboratory expertise, certification and education services. It is the only gem testing laboratory in Mumbai which was established by the Gem and Jewellery Association (GJEA) to promote, propagate and develop the science of gemstones and conduct research studies. It caters to a diverse set of clientele comprising of the Gem and Jewellery industry and various Government agencies like Customs, IT and Police Department and to the General Public. GII is recognized as a SIRO (Scientific Industrial Research Organization) by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. GII is a project of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), and cosponsored by Diamond Exporters Association Ltd (DEAL), Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), Gem & Jewellery Exporters Association (GJEA) and Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association (MDMA).
